Two Indian’s accused of motorbike theft from taxi driver in South Pattaya

PATTAYA:--Two Indian Tourists have been accused of stealing a motorbike belonging to a taxi driver in South Pattaya.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday and led to the arrest of Mr. Govind Lal aged 43 and Mr. Varun Kumar Guel aged 28. Both men are accused of taking a motorbike belonging to Khun Moragort aged 32 who confessed to leaving the key in the ignition while he went to the Toilet close to his taxi rank in Soi 16/1 off the Pratamnuk Road.

When he returned the bike had gone but was soon seen by colleagues in front of the Avenue Complex on Pattaya Second Road being driven by one of the Indian suspects with the other riding as passenger. The bike was forced to pull-over and both suspected thieves were escorted to Pattaya Police Station where they claimed they just wanted to borrow the bike and claimed not to be in control of their senses following a night of heavy drinking. Khun Moragort, who was offered a financial compensation package by the two suspects,

Unbelievable !!!!!!!!! These are supposed to be adults. It's no wonder most bars don't allow then in. I couldn't believe the first time I saw the bar owners and girls in a bar I was sitting in on WS run out from where two Indians were stopped looking inside and were very rudely told to go away and they were not welcome. That could NOT happen in my home country for obvious reasons but here it can and does.

When I asked the owner why, she told me they are trouble, treat the woman bad and cheap.

The laws protect non-Thais too. If the tables were turned in this incident, a Thai thief of a foreigners bike would be prosecuted too.

So 2 Indians who steal a Thai motorcycle taxi riders vehicle which is returned presumably undamaged are to face a court while a Thai motorcycle taxi rider who attacks 2 Britons with a pole walks away scot free. Amazing Thailand indeed!

they r very unpopular i was near a group of them in a bar recently ...they ordered three beers between 6 one bought water but later refilled it ....presumably in the loo whilst another was refilling his local brand whisky and ice with a flask .....the mama went off at them ...the girls do dislike them

Respect the laws of Thailand. Right. Like most of the Pattaya taxi drivers, he is probably three sheets to the wind 24 hours a day. He was probably drunk when he left the key in the bike. Honestly, what Thai in Pattaya is going to leave their key in their bike when they go inside, even if it's just to use the bathroom. A drunk Thai, that's who.

I spent a year backpacking through India about 8 years ago. Never seen such scamming, thieving people in all of my life. Some really nice ones too, but the bad far outweigh the bad. They will go out of there way and above and beyond a normal scam in an attempt to get one dollar. Sticky fingers too.
