Offer taxi's with seat belts. They can have a higher fare. They will be recognized in some way, symbol/color etc.

Put a garabge can on every soi corner.

Put up electronic meters similar to Singapore that charge automobiles for driving in Bangkok, this will discourage traffic.

Start purchasing open lots in Bangkok and turn them into parks. There are not enough Green areas in the city.

Do not allow Children to be used for solitication of pedestrians. Get rid of the adult beggars while we are at it. The professional/mafia/serial offenders are easily identifiable.

Seat belts in a taxi?

It will take decades until everybody will use helmets in motobikes.

Non sense ,get the Police to rigidly enforce the law with a 500 baht fine, failure to pay with 7 days, automatic motorcycle confiscation .and it would take a matter of weeks .

What about introducing a new subject at school, like "civic education" or some means to let hem understand that every action have a comsequence after??? seems that many people think that for whatever they do, it will just end up there and go back to stare at the universe.....

Are you saying its totally out of the question? , with the right financial stimulus for the Police it would be baby's work..

get them to stop saying yes when they mean no.

That would be a cultural shock for us too... suddenly getting to know what they REALLY mean...

put the indicator (turn signal) on Before they turn.

drive on their own side of the road

stay in the left lane when not overtaking.

Why do you want to take all the fun out of driving in LOS??

They don't have them already?

Put a garabge can on every soi corner.

That'll last long

What about all the poor people reliant on it?

Get rid of beggars? And do what with them exactly?

Fines for stopping to talk with friends immediately after they step off an escalator

Pavements are for pedestrians not a free market extension of shop and its' wares

Red lights mean STOP

You don't have to chase young kids around trying to force feed them, sit them down if they are hungry they learn to stay seated

Offer in Taxi's a card where the driver calls and can translate other languages to Thai

A rubbish bin on every corner - would be nice, while we are at it would be good if 7/11 empties the ones outside their stores more often

Bicycle lanes

Remove the limitation on hours when alchohol can be bought in shop

Stop sending policemen to "inactive postings"

OK all pipedreams, but one which would really benefit. As per the system in Taiwan, have all stores with a cash register linked to a central server system, so that each receipt is given a unique lottery number ( no extra charge ) each month a 50 million Baht jackpot plus smaller prizes, all paid for by the tax department who now have records and collect requisite tax from those shops.

The state wins and the individual winners of the lottery. Those who do not buy a POS machine linked in to system lose business as people do not get a chance to participate in the free lottery. A great system which would really benefot Thailand and its' people short and long term

Now that has some merit.

Bit tough on the Mum and Dad stores and I'm a bit partial to them.

Actually it would be great idea in Greece where Tax dodging is a national pastime.

Put a garabge can on every soi corner.

That's the easy part, then try to get everyone to put their garabage into a can. rolleyes.gif

Reminds me of a story a mate told me about his in-laws in Surin.

Getting fed up of seeing all the rubbish thrown around their yard he bought them a big blue bin to put it in. It got used for storing water, so he bought another one, another water storage bin, and another.....

So he gave up and there's still a load of rubbish in their yard.

I have witnessed this many times myself, for many of them not throwing the rubbish inside the bin, even if it's just under their nose, it's something they have in their DNA.

I did even try to challenge some of them, the best answer you get is "mai pen rai", if the guilty ones are not just randoms but locals, playing the grumpy part seems to be effective, i couldn't care less if i am seen as a "jae lon" from the eyes of a sevage...

Like Vietnam, they did this in 2006. You never see anyone in Vietnam not wearing a helmet, its too expensive not to!

Remove all Farang that will not accept that they do not make the rules here.

Remove all Farang that believe that everything is perfect in Thailand and nothing should change.

Remove every alternate farang on an arbitrary basis, without reason, cause or justification.

Force people to wear clownfeet.

Encourage more daft ideas.
