My Thai Girlfriend In America Is Extremely Sick - Please Help!

Recommended Posts

I live in the United States. My girlfriend is from Thailand, and she is extremely sick. I do not know any of her family, I believe they may all be in Thailand. Can someone please help me try to locate her relatives? I believe she may be from Sa Kaeo or Phuket, these are the only places she's ever mentioned. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If she has a THai Id card it may help in finding the family as most people do leave their address as their family. The Thai embassy may be surprisingly helpful if you aproach them well and have as much information as you can....ie passport number address real name etc. If she has a Thai driving licence it will have3 an address on it which may be her family address.

Contact the Thai embassy, or the Thai foreign office department of consular affairs. They are charged with helping Thai nationals in problems and will try to locate her family, etc.

I find it amazing that you know so little about your girlfriend.

Why would anyone not know where their girlfriend and her immediate family come from.Let alone not have any contact details in case of times of emergency.

Thank you Harry and Mario for the advice, I have found documents that may help me when I visit the consulate.

Stonyboy, I find it amazing too. She still to this moment will not tell me anything more about her family or let me contact them, despite my asking repeatedly. Whose fault is that? Maybe I have been too sensitive and accepting of her mystery because she comes from a culture that I am not innately familiar with. She is a sweet, good, moral person, and I chose not to hold the mystery against her. This was my decision, and I am living with the results of that now.

How is it going? Any luck so far? I hope your g/f is ok.

In Thailand everyone is 'registered' to a house, and whilst that could have been many years ago, as sure as eggs are eggs, someone at that house or nearbye will know who the relatives are. The Thai Embassy should have that house registration information (or at least people in BKK who will have it) , you just need her passport.

The first thing to do is send out a copy of her Thai ID and post That with local authorities in the city or province u mentioned. That can get things going. The ID it self has a record local police can easily track down where she is registered with family.. Let me know how it goes. What is her condition?

Assuming you met her back there and not here in Thailand yes? Good luck and hope the advice given here will help you to contact her family. Family medical history is very important in aiding a diagnosis and treatment. My wife has already had some problems with this herself since where she's from it was never really considered necessary to know and not many questions were asked, it gets frustrating at times when we need that info for our own children..

Thank you for this additional information. I do have her passport, but no Thai ID card. It started with something very minor, but she let it get very bad. She is still very sick, but stable I think. Doing my best, and I appreciate your help.

And yes, I met her in the United States, she's been here for over a decade. There is a lot of mystery, and there is a divorce at some point, I think this may have something to do with it. She comes from a good, conservative family, it's my understanding that this could lead to a rift.
