Hi, I am British and recently married to a Thai in Thailand. The Thai's I have spoken to such as the registrar at the Samui Amphur are telling me I need to go back to Bangkok and get the Thai wedding cert translated into English and certified at the govt place in laksi the same way you get the affirmation certified before getting married. They also say I then need to take it to the British embassy and deposit the certs there.

From reading the British embassy paperwork it only says it needs to be a translation done by a bureau so my question is...does the translation have to be certified like the affirmation was in Laksi to make it official? and secondly do I need to deposit my wedding cert at the Bristih embassy bangkok or is that only as the I have read to allow me to get a copy of the cert in the future should I need to?

thanks to anyone who has gone through the process and can clear up this last thing for me.
