Are the visas coming out of neighboring embassies and consulates 1 year / multiple by default? One must leave and return every 90 days - correct? What about coming and going at will? For instance suppose you wish to take a trip/s? Would you simply be stamped in for another 90 days on return (I suppose)?

The last 90 day block would be less than 90 days assuming you were out on trip/s during the year a few days, weeks or months....Can you then leave before the visa expires and get another 90 days?

In short - is this visa a multiple or must I request and pay for it. Maybe it is just a 90day single good for one year by default ???

If I do have a multiple, can I come and go as described above.

Thanks!

A single entry will give a stay of up to 90 days one time only.

A Multi Entry will give unlimited entries for a year.

Each entry has a maximum of 90 days.

Visas are not multiple by default.

Simply look at the visa, it says multiple or single (sometimes indicated by an M or an S). A single should cost 2,000 baht and a multiple 5,000 (in local currency).

A single is valid for 3 months, a multiple for 1 year.

Multi is often harder to obtain at local Consulates - often requiring show of bank accounts to indicate you can afford your stay for that time period, or may not be issued at all. But it allows free travel during the one year it is valid and each entry will be 90 days (even if entry is the day before visa expires).

OH wait, maybe I have this all wrong.

When guys do a runner to Savanakhet are all they getting is a single 90 day visa? WOW, I thought it was one year?! and what about KUL?? Same...

OR

Does say Savanakhet issue a one year visa (S) standard and you are required to report every ninety days?

---> I will need a multiple, will I be able to get one with a bank account of say 100-200k baht? We already have trips to Singapore and Lao planned and booked.

Thanks
