Have heard so many stories from my freinds about the thai bar girls. are they true?

Do they swamp around the westerners only interested in how much mponey they have. i dont think i would like that much.

Can you have a serious relationship with them, if this is the case?

Are there certain manners that any farang have overstepped but not knwing it because of the culture differences?

No way ! Bar girls are only there to serve you and to learn from your superior intelligence. When they are not busy you will often see them studying dilligently in the far corner of a bar. Most of them study at Uni part time and then go on to become succesful lawyers, dentists and so on. If you wish to help them with study they would really appreciate it and will normally take you to their university to introduce you to the rest of the class and the teacher. You will learn a lot about Thailand if you become a friend of bar girl.

you are right, if you are a little streetwise, anywhere you go, you should be safe. people tend to focus on the minority of negative reports. tourists having drugs planted on them is not a general happening. i am not saying it doesn´t happen, however, just follow common sense as you would on any other trip.

Think about buying the girls drinks, go slow, when you go fresh into a bar order a beer for yourself but give yourself 5 - 10 minutes before you buy a lady drink.
