I'm looking for information on national and bangkok transport and thought I had seen some URL's in a post before with timetables for national buses - ie ones that leave the main bus terminals in bkk and other main bus terminals throughout thailand. However after searching TV I havent come up with anything like what I thought there was. Just one link, which is below, to a company running buses to khon kaen and khorat.

Does anyone know of a reliable website that has the following for national buses in Thailand :

Timetables - with destination and intermediate stops

Prices

Contact details for the companies concerned

I would also like to know if the same exists for buses that run around bangkok and greatet bangkok - ie the red, green, orange, blue, purple buses you see in bangkok and are usually run by bmta.

If anyone is interested i have come across the following sites for thailand transport :

http://www.bmta.co.th/engversion/eng_version.htm

http://www.nca.co.th/web/thai/

http://www.railway.co.th/timetable/E_timetable.html

http://www.mrta.co.th/eng/index.htm

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply and the link.

just wondered - there seem to be a few companies that do the national buses - is there any way of finding out what these are ? Maybe this is expecting too much - but a web page with them all on ? I aks this as i have found 2 companies now that go to khon kaen and i'd be interested to know of there are any more. I guess to get the best answer would involve going to mochit and asking around, but dont really want to unless i have to...

Thanks

There are at least 5 or 6 companies going to Khon Kaen. NCA is the best and most expensive, and the only one where you can book your seat online. Chantours is the only one with seats big enough for a big farang, but their bus breaks down about every second trip. 417 (or is it 408 or whatever, I forgot) is the worst. Then there is Khon Kaen Tours, there are the busses that pass through to Udon and there are the second class busses.

You won't find all this on the net. Beyond your computer, there is something called reality.

Thanks for the reply - am i right in thinking that the buses for these 5 or 6 companies leave from the mochit terminal ? So it should be just a matter of walking around there and seeing what they are like if they have services leaving frequently.
