Retirement Visa Bank Balance Requirements

Featured Replies

Friends in France have told me the Consulate there stated to them that the bank balance required for those who are over 60 yrs of age is Bt200,000 (Not 800.000). I think this is too good to be true so does anyone have info on this?

Marshall Stanley

Not true. Those were the requirements a long time ago.

I can't give a link but basically anyone over 60 who has been getting continuous retirement extensions since 1998 needs 200,000 in the bank.

What is the asking them? Non immigrant O visa (single or multi entry)? Non immigrant O-A visa (single or multi entry)? Or Thai Immigration requirements for yearly extension of stay within Thailand?

As said O-A visa or Extension will require 800k/65k/combination to meet 800k per year under current regulations (since 1998).
