all depends if you like being surounded by knob jockeys high on pills and twirling ' fire batons' around their heads...people who think its 'cool' not to wash and students on their gap year......half moon isnt really worth it...but there again dont listen to anybody...find out for yourself.... :o

:D Takes one to know one, eh?

Don't listen to this poster, as he has already said in another thread, he is in the UK, so, what can he know?

Half Moon is the 6th, up in the coconut plantations (altho they call it the jungle party)in Ban Tai. There is an admission fee but it includes a free drink. My understanding is that it is mostly trance music being played but if you like that sort of music then you will probably have fun. It is obviously much smaller than the FMP but most people who go seem to have had a good time.

The Half Moon and Black Moon parties can be a lot more fun truth be told. They are smaller.

The music is a personal choice thing, but becuase they are smaller you don't get as many punters. Don't be foolish and drive yourself by motor bike.

You are always better off going with a car that is owned by the bungalows that you are staying with.

You can find the dates on any of the Koh Phagnan Websites. The Black Moon Location is really cool. They lay out is really well done and it's just a cool vibe.

I've never been to Half Moon.

Be safe and be smart and your sure to have a good time.

Why can't you drive yourself by motorbike? If we are sober is it okay?

Ha! Rarely do people come back sober and even if you do, the other motorbikes on the road are probably not.

but, hey, you can get a "thailand tattoo" if you want :o

I don't know where you are or if you have ever been to the island Lovesun, but the OP, has never been to the island before. Everything SBK says is true.

Most people can't get to Thongsala their first time w/o crashing thier motor bike, sober in the day time.

Most tourists staying in Had Rin all have lovely white bandages adorning their loverly red skin. :o

I am in China, and yes I have been to Samui before, lots. I was just wondering if there was another reason to not take your bike if not for drinking. I love the parties even though I dont drink.. I like having my own bike so I can leave when and if things get ugly. I agree about the others on the road, though, its pretty dangerous out there.

Well, were talking about KPN and again if you have been driving on the roads for awhile it's not that much of an issue, but for the average tourist going to party, not a good choice.

Errrrrr! I think everyone else is talking about a completely different island to you :o

BTW - what's the weather looking like for New Year?
