Pheu Thai MPs Want Nutt To Quit Over Girlie Photos

In a Christian context, I can only say "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

The more appropriate saying is that "People who live in glass houses should not throw stones"

The Democrats are getting a taste of what they have been dishing out since they lost the last election. Seems to me that the Demos brought this on themselves.

Frankly, I do not care. It is unfortunate that there is no opposition party in Thailand without some semblance of integrity and decency. If there was, the PTP would be history.

So you are saying that the PTP has "integrity and decency"? And it seems to you that the Democratic Party brought this farce on themselves. It would seem that to you, I am not the least surprised as you can only see one side of everything. You have a very narrow field of vision. And that is not the only thing you have that is narrow.

I'm really at odds to understand how a Facebook photo on a handphone was delivered to a large screen......

Is Airplay the preferred software of the House?

IIRC the photo on the hand phone, and the picture on the bigscreen, were two different pictures of two different "models".

The fact that there might have been worse misconduct in Parliement is no escuse for not going thru a proper investigation of this issue and penalize the culprit accordingly.

The fact that some MPs are suggesting that the phone might have interfere with the closed circuit video system is ridiculous. Not only these people are incompetent to make such claim but it worries me that people in power have such poor understanding of basic technology. I hope these are not the same selecting the specifications for the kid's tablets.

S0, le'st see you are sitting at your desk and someone sends you an SMS with attachment, you open the message, only to find it is a picture of a barely clad girl, you do a double take, before closing it, but the camera looking over your shoulder shows it to the world. Your enemies leak it to the press and moan about your morals.

Oh darn... lose your job for answering a message sent by another, that is inappropriate.

I think not. He just needs to pick better friends.

And yes, the complaining MPs apparently are technical ludites,

who seem to get their expertise from BAD spy movies.

But it's more important to make an enemy lose face,

and maybe increase the political advantage in the house a notch,

than MAKE ANY SENSE with your public statements.

Unless there was a specific 'FTP link' set up on his phone

AND the Laptop used for the show and tell

AND an external powerful WiFi device on a 3rd computer,

then this is just absurd.

Or there was someone with lots of money and computer savvy hackers with very good skills

trying to make the Dems look bad, and distract from other things... like the Charter re-write.

We of course know people CAN be bought here at all levels to allow access to their masters tools.

On the other hand there are MUCH more incriminating things than half nude women to put on someones computer to distract or blame enemies with.

The iphone (the phone that Nutt was using) messaging programme works in a 'conversation' mode: If you open a message from someone, it's shown as a series of messages to and from that person, and any photos received are shown as 'thumbs' in that window. In order to get the full screen photo that Nutt was caught viewing, you have to click on the thumb.

I don't understand why Nutt didn't just admit, apologise, accept a ticking off fro a party whip and move on (well, I suppose I do). His stupid behaviour has given the Pheu Thai attack dogs a sniff of blood. He only has himself to blame.

Very strange - I thought he had admitted opening a sent photo and apologised to the House. What further steps should he have taken to appease the PTP quest for blood; hung himself as suggested or committed ritual sepuku on the house floor?

This is a storm in a teacup whipped up by a pack of hypocrite willing to accept as fellow govt members genuine criminals using their seat to avoid prosecution.

So looking at a bit of smut is a hanging offense ?.....so what sort of penalty is attached to being drunk at a parlimentary debate then..?

A blow job did it for Clinton! Anyway he should be hung out to dry for not listening during such an important debate considering his job and the side he's supposed to be on.

Well, I really don't care if he was looking at the picture to relieve the boredom of listening to another MP's waffle, or some such. I might be tempted to do the same myself. But, as I pointed out, he would've seen the photo in 'thumb' form when he opened the message so there was no need to open it to full screen to see the content. But he felt the need to lie about this.

I have the same phone, and would have to open to recognise a friend/acquaintance from a merely salacious shot.

You feel no need to comment on my opinion of those demanding the ultimate penalty, or their level of hypocrisy?

I wish you'd stop making lame excuses on Nutt's behalf. I have the same phone, and the photo that Nutt was caught viewing would have been perfectly recognizable in thumb-form.

I've mostly given up debating politics with you, Mick. It's somewhat akin to trying to have a debate with a recorded message biggrin.png .

Wow If you feel that way about a junior Dem member not paying attention you must be livid about the PM avoiding the whole show.

PTP scramble up the hill to claim the 'moral-high-ground', so fast it makes their ears pop.

Sadly for them, it takes more than some nude photos to make most people forget the real crimes that are being committed in those same parliament buildings.

Is it totally ok to be drunk in Parlament, but not to look at a picture?

"I'll have three rocks and a packet of gravel, please" and then Yingluk playing the part of Mary (the parliamentary virgin) rushing in with a football-sized lump of limestone. LoB - what a hoot!

And the "Messiahs" in Dubai will walk on the Chapraya River, in little sister Bubarrys.

Comming soon in a Theater near you.

Pheu Thai MP Prasit Chaisrisa said Nutt should hang himself to escape the shame he has brought on Parliament and the Democrat Party.

In a land where these boys have 2nd wives, frequent high end karaoke bars, and show up to work drunk, hanging ones self over a crotchless "porn" image makes perfect sense.

I love it when the Thai government / military speak of shame. Pot, meet kettle.

That a member of the government should actively condone, and in fact propose, that anyone should commit the act of suicide is totally inappropriate, and I feel that the person concerned should be disciplined.

Absolutely. In many places around the world, encouraging suicide is illegal. That a Member of Parliament would do so is unconscionable.

Looking at a "girlie photo" pales in comparison.

I dont get it! how did he get caught? he was looking at xxx photos with someone standing behind him? (not so smart on his part).

so,, how did he get caught?

and whats this about 'interfering' with the TV monitors? even if he wasnt looking at photos, a mobile phone makes interference when an SMS is received too.

and ALL phones can interfere with TV monitors (smartphone or old style stick phones)

"Inappropriate?"

Viewing girlie pictures is never "inappropriate." Unless the lady you're with objects for good reason. (Like they're pictures of her sister, or mother. Or are of women wearing more clothing than she is.) None of those circumstances usually apply during Parlimentary discussions.

Good one, rkidlad, I especially liked the line "Images depicting Nutt's inappropriate conduct have been circulated around the world, bringing shame on the Thai Parliament"...... This incident will not rate a mention outside of Thailand, it is nothing compared to some of the antics Takki and his henchmen and red shirted mercenaries have done to the reputation of the country.

Pity he wasn't viewing a picture of Yingluck similarly attired. The whole ep just goes to show how boring parliament must be, I mean for the reporter to be looking at Nutt's phone instead of what was going in the debate. Hypocrites all!

Get what you are saying but reporters aren't paid to pay attention to the debates, they are paid to get stories that will sell newspapers. Of course they may as well be paid by politicians to get stories that make other politicians look bad, but i couldn't possibly comment on that.

I agree that to say there is nothing wrong with an MP looking at smut whilst in parliament is crazy, if that is what people are saying, but then again, there are crazy people out there. Just look at the tons of this forum members who were telling us that there was nothing wrong with a PM using her phone whilst paying respects at a funeral. I'm sure you weren't one of those though. Perhaps you even made a similar sarcastic post as the one above, about how for the next funeral the PM attends, she might like to bring her Playstation to pass the time during the boring moments? Or then again, perhaps you didn't express anything negative on that occasion...?
