I'm going to be on my way back from Laos next week and my nephew is getting married in Yasathon. My plan is to go there from Nong Khai. Looking at the map I was thinking about getting a bus to Khon Khaen and then trying to get another bus from there. Is this the best way or is there a better way of doing it. Also, can anyone recommend a good hotel in Yasathon. I may have to stay there one night before someone comes to pick me up.

Nong Khai -- Khon Khaen -- Yasothon seems fine. There may or may not be a direct bus.

Google hotels in Yasothon and I'm sure you'll find a good one.

Be sure to check out St Michael's Church in the small village of Song Yae. It's the largest wooden church in Thailand. The Pope went there about 30 years ago.

I've been there several times and it's a gem!
