If you are in Europe rather than Thailand til after mid January how does one register the mobile phone and not be cut off at the end of dec?

It's a problem. We asked the family in Khorat to register ours for us but they told us that the closing date was brought forward to 15 December. No-one here has mentioned a change in the closing date so we shall try to register when we arrive in BKK later this week.

If the closing date is gone or you won't be in LOS until it is, the only solution that I know of would be to buy a new sim when you next go.

AFAIK closing date is still 31st December - registered mine and the g/f yesterday(28/12) - one 1-2-call, and one DTAC.
