Soho

Featured Replies

Down towards the big entertainment center end is a new business being built. I been wondering what it is. Name says SOHO. Anyways, I stopped by yesterday with my wife, thinking I would show her, and we would figure out what kind of business it was. There was a new sign up saying price is discounted at 199 baht. My wife asked the lady gardener out front, what's up with this place? Seems it's a hotel but the rooms are just a small bare box with a bed, and that price is for something less than a whole night, a shorter-time, you might say. I told my wife, I never heard of a hotel advertising for less than one night, even if that was the intention.

anybody else heard anything?

You sound like a nice guy huli, but surely you cant be that naive?

This thread comes over more of an advertisement than a query, but going by your other posts, i would say that is not the case.

Sorry if i sound too much like a cynic.

there are many hotels in CM which charge by the hour. Usually they have a parking spot in front of each room and a curtain you can draw which hides your vehicle so no one can see your guests

There must be dozens and dozens of them in C.M. (maybe a hundred even). Some of them are in run down villages or moobaans. From where I live there must be 15 of them within a 3 km radius.

OP you can't be that naive -- can you?

His point was that these hotels don't advertise. " hey come here for shortime"

There are not a lot of short-time hotels in that neighborhood. This may be a smart business move.

I was hoping it was a new club - competition for the Spice dive - but it seems not

SOHO = Small Office Home Office..clap2.gif

I think it maybe the new SOlar and Heliospheric Observatory to assess these strange "roodoos"

It was news to me. I know there is a lot of short time hotels here. Just didn't realize how prevalent they were according to some of the answers.

Glad to hear it is the real deal thanks Dave.

199 bpp. Im assuming thats 199 baht per person?

Doesnt seem like such a great deal at all really.

what if you want a menage a trois, or quatre even?

But well, at least some of the members here seem to appreciate they are the read deal and glad to hear SOHO et all is available.

.....Classy.

I should be the price for the room. I have never hear of short-time rooms in Thailand that charge per person.

Alas, all you world-wise Thai-Visa guys and no one has heard anything else about SOHO except Dave2????

I think it has the potential to change the neighborhood, being right on the main drag and all. It sure is going to be convenient.

For example, why bother waiting for those tiresome bar fines when you can just hang out in front of SOHO? Does the management have any plans to give these ladies a place of their own to rest inside? It won't do this town's reputation any good to have a crowd of gals on the sidewalk out front.

I'm not naive...haha

They even had one right next-door to the Nursery School where my child used to go. I had no idea at first as there was no sign but the building looked very 'secret'. I often wondered why there were so many small Listerine bottles, travel size soap, and condom wrappers laying out all over the soi near where the trash cans were located!

He told his wife he never heard of a hotel charging by the hour. That's not the same thing as actually not knowing. :P

So which member is going to be the first to give us a review?

I will probably make use of it during Euro '12.

I don't think they have television in the rooms.

I have never seen one yet that doesn't have a TV in every roomwink.png

To clarify: I have trouble pacing myself when out to the bars, and would normally not make it until 2am when many of the games start. So having a snooze downtown makes sense; during the past World Cup I often did a 2 hour massage even though don't particularly like massages, just to kill time. Also, after my home team's games I may need to spend some time with someone who can celebrate with me, or provide consolation. (Win or lose doesn't really have a significant impact to the night's conclusion.)

( Unless my downtown pied-à-terre is ready within a month, though it currently doesn't look like it. :/ )

I don't know how to break this news except to say it's not that sort of hotel at all, just a new one with budget prices. I stopped in yesterday, asked, and was shown around. The 199 price quoted is per person in a dormitory-style room with bunk beds.... maybe 16-20 sleeping spaces. I didn't think to ask how many of those rooms they have. A double room was shown for something like 800 or 900 baht. Everything is new and freshly painted. Pleasant staff at the desk. Not a likely spot for temporary romance.
