It must be her effective handling of the flood efforts, her down to earth approaches when it comes to inflation, her heartwarming answers to all critical questions, her love for her family or her passionate debating skills. If we are not careful, she will turn in a Thai Eva Peron. These polls make me doubtful Have you ever noticed it is 17 provinces and rarely any sufficient amount of people for that big of a area. Every one is entitled to their own opinion but when I saw "and nearly half of the respondents were of an opinion that Jatuporn Prompan should be given an opportunity to be a minister" It pretty well told me that a lot of the people taking part in the poll were clueless as to what is happening. 17 provinces not hard to find 17 red shirt villages. My thoughts exactly! I bet the provinces polled for this result were all north east of Korat. from Nong Khai, to Nong Bua Lamphu and Udon Thani, to you name it all around there.... -mel. However, it is interesting to note that the same people now dismissing the poll outright previously accepted such polls when they showed favourable results for the Democrats or an assessment that was a negative against PTP. What counts are the election ballots and I have a feeling that should an election be called in the next year after the new cabinet ministers have a chance to make an impression, the PTP is going to have an outright majority in both seats and votes. Hopefully, the poll, no matter how unreliable, encourages the Democrats to clean up their act, get focused and try and build a credible, viable alternative. Do you think the TRT members that will come into cabinet do not already have some input into their decisions? Do you think that much will change once they are in the cabinet? volk666 Posted May 6, 2012 Share Posted May 6, 2012 Yingluck is trying very hard and people see the difference between her work and the rest of the government/ruling party. So far she judges her job on how well she did it personally, not on what she accomplished for the country. People also happy to give the the chance to prove herself. While signs of discontent are already there she still can hold a court for while. I seriously doubt she will be chosen to stand in the next elections anyway. It's like a sports team that had its stars on the injury list. Once they are fit for action, the replacements get sent back to the minors. The government is facing a sort of an existential problem where their election promises produce the opposite effects - the life is not getting better after wage increases and rice prices are not going up after buying it high, for example, and the tablets are just a fiasco that is better kept off the radar. No management can't fix this, better PR might work but Yingluck already got the best men on this so the impact of the banned 111 will be at best marginal. I bet their return will be used only to give people a semblance of hope that things will eventually get better. They won't. Rice exports will continue to drop, wages will continue to go up pushing the price higher and higher and the only thing PTP will tell their voters is "wait until we get the really good ministers back from the ban". After they are done with exTRT they'll have exPPP, and then there will be time for new elections with the whole new bunch of promises so all the old failures can be forgotten. I think he thinks the present cabinet is inept on it's good day's relying on Yingluck to smile in Photo ops and tell the people the cost of living is not going up. It just looks like you are paying 120 baht but you aren't you are only paying 100 baht. However, then you see that Oddjob gets a 57 per cent, which makes you wonder who is doing the voting. Not many? In addition this poll only specifies 'over 18', it does not actually state any other factors in who was polled, such as average age, income, gender, etc. 100% of lottery winners polled today said the world is filled with love & happiness and the future is total bliss. Remove the social group from your target poll description and you have a misleading figure. Also people who will vote for money will also poll for money. Ever asked a Thai person for directions. They'll tell you where to go even if they have no idea where you want to go to, just so they won't look foolish. Same here, When asked a question they'll open their mouths and give an answer just so they don't look foolish or uneducated. True feelings are only usually expressed to close friends and family. In this case, the "injured" MPs can still play and many of the policies have been implemented as "instructed", but its the policy itself that's the problem, not the implementation of it. Pheu Thai lost it's third election in a row with a defeat in the mayoral contest in Chiang Rai, where the Bhum Jai Thai Party candidate defeated the incumbent Pheu Thai candidate. Pheu Thai Spokesman Prompong Nopparit did the obligatory downplaying saying the loss was due to the individual candidate and did not reflect the Party's failing. . Whilst I wont comment on the accuracy or how useful this poll is, as I have no idea, the same as you- I can guarantee that if this poll was saying the the majority of people were not happy with the Governement and PM, this thread would be about 20 pages long, extolling the virtues and accuracy of ABAC's poll.
