Im born 21 of september 1962, that means that I now write that im 50 years old on all my thai document ( but I actually will be 50 at the 21 of September). I now live in Thailand on a education Visa that end 9 of June 2012. Can I now (before my 50 birthday 21 of September) apply for a retirement visa and if its okey, how do I do it? must I first leave Thailand or can I just goto the Immigration and apply? For your info, i have had over 800 k on the Bank more then 3 month's. Thankful for answer on this issue.

You don't have to leave the country to "convert" to a retirement extension, but you may have to go to Bangkok to do it if your local office doesn't handle conversions.

This is not about conversion or visa issue where only Bangkok might be able to do but about starting retirement from either a 90 day non immigrant ED visa entry or an extension of stay for education which any office should be able to handle if they will accept ED as the starting non immigrant entry.

Your best option may be to get a 2 entry tourist visa. You could get 90 days from a single entry by getting a 30day extension but that would not be enough so a 2 entry skipping the extension and making a border at end of your first 30 days would give you about 120 days. Then on your birthday apply for your extension which would require a conversion from tourist to a non-o visa which immigration would then do the extension a for year after stamping the permit to stay from that visa.
