Working Remote? What Visa

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I was wondering what would be the visa type I'd have to apply for if I decided to move for good to Chiang Mai and continue to work for my emplyer in home land via a computer remote connection?

Thanks for your help

That doesn't sound like you have any kind of official engagement with a Thai company or organization, so you'd be looking at a tourist visa, unless married to a Thai person, or unless you're over 50 years old.

Unless you got caught.

If you are working in Thailand, regardless of where or whether you are paid, you need a work permit.
