Sometimes I Just Don'T Understand?

Out for dinner tonight in pattaya. On the table next to me were 4 English men, easily over 50.

For half an hour whilst I was eating my fish and chips, the group were slagging off Thai people, majority about the women.

1. Thai people live like pigs

2. Bar girls, massage girls etc are all looking to find a coo to get your money.

3. All Thai men are drunk lazy motor bike drivers.

4. Thais are far from educated

And so on......

I love Thailand, it is possibly the most open country in the world, nothing I see bemuses me anymore.

Why do these people stay here? Are you to scared to go home to reality? Or just bitter old men?

I'd have asked to move tables.

It was a thought, but it wouldn't have made a difference, I'm pretty sure the staff could hear as well.

The ignorance of the 4 men, believing the staff wouldn't understand, what was being said!

The staff smiling at each other knowing that one of the wives are playing away with a younger man!

Whats to understand. Pataya has a world reputation and it isn't culture. It should have been obvious by their conversation that women in England that will have any thing to do with them are a lot more expensive than Pataya.

You should have had a quiet word with the Thais staff, preferably the kitchen staff, and explain the conversation you overheard, then offered to pay for free extra helpings for the foreigners if the Thai staff would be so kind as to provide the toppings.
