Its a great thread but the OP is no detective despite writing down a profile:

This is the summation of the evidence

1. 3 riders on one bike each

2. each wore full face helmets with visors

3.they wore t shirts and shorts

4. they each waved at the OP

5. one had a blue back pack

6. the bikes were honda dream

7. one wore crocs

Now when we are all out and about around town, keep your eyes open for the blue backpack, thats obviously the most descriptive part...being blue; but then I suggest you give them a sneaky wave and see if they wave back.

Then you can pull them over and tell them the game is up.

ok team out we go, lets report back later for a briefing.

Think you should report to your local police station so police can setup an investigation right away and these people brought to justice.

There was three people waving at me on the highway yesterday; waving with both arms. And I thought this was very strange because it seemed like their truck was burning. I thought a burning truck would be more important than being friendly. But, who am I to judge? So I leaned out of the big water truck I was driving and waved back with a big ole smile. Nice folks, made my day it did.

It is to distract you while you are being pickpocketed.

Oh..

Joking aside, sheesh thats sneaky... yeh, could see how that could be a pretty good ploy.

The beauty of this plan is its simplicity.

Look at the OPs opening sentence..

This morning I was waved at by three men on motorbikes as left my bank on Suthep Road

The key element is he was leaving his bank. His pocket/wallet is filled with 1000 baht notes.

The 3 Honda Dream riders wave in unison...the OP, momentarily distracted, waves back....pickpocket works his magic...

The Honda Dream riders plan also has a backup...Should the OP have the horde of notes in his hand then he will most likely wave back by instinct...the notes go fluttering across the street, a few more of the Honda Dream gang scramble for the scattered notes.

Pure genius!

your story reminded me of Joe and Petunia; on British tv adverts early 70s, I think many of you will have a great laugh being reminded of these 2

All of this thread is insane. The OP is a narcissistic and self important character that assumes people waiving are waiving at him, when in fact it was the hot babe on the sidewalk behind him who attracted the waive. The hell of it is that just about everybody posting a response bought into his ridiculous assumption.

Don't you think posters knew it was a BS thread and have answered accordingly?

His ridiculous assumption reminds us not to assume (because it makes an ass out of you and me) and since we both responded it seems we are in good company

I wish there had been a hot 'babe' behind me! I sort of understood your post but what does 'waived' mean?

I can confirm this has happened to me, about 5 days ago if memory serves.

Though it was by the intersection by wawee coffee on sunday market street. I actually thought they were Pillionist and taking the piss out of me. Makes me feel better that it's not only me.

And I did actually notice one of them were wearing crocs shoes as mentioned by the op.

These must be the same people. Strange they're doing it all over town.

The three motorcyclists who were "waving" at the hot babe, "waived" the OP aside. And I think I waived my claim to literacy.

I may agree with you once I find out what narcissistic means?

It could be a ploy to stop you and rob you as you just came out of a bank...full of $$$$$$$$$...so don't stop..

Some guy waved and even yelled something in Thai at me today too but, he only used his middle finger? Not sure what that meant, anyone know? huh.png

Probably a lawyer, they have trouble spelling things if there's no fee involved. cheesy.gif

What's really important is how many of you visited Suthep BKKB today and checked out the HOT PB on the pretext of searching for 3 waving mb riders?

BTW, the Thoms coffee van outside BKKB is same as Rimping Nim City ... good stuff!
