Civil Defence Volunteer and his wife arrested following drug sting in Jomtien

PATTAYA:--The wife of a well-known and respected member of the local Civil Defence Force has been arrested during an undercover drug suppression operation on Saturday afternoon.

An undercover officer, armed with marked bank notes was able to buy a small quantity of Yabba Tablets from Khun Surarat aged 30 in Soi 5 off the Tepprasit Road. She was found to be carrying a total of 15 Tablets and was then escorted back to her apartment. Her husband, Khun Supachorp aged 45 was inside and was immediately detained pending a search which uncovered a box of bullets, a gun holster, blank Civil Defence Volunteer ID cards and many packets of syringes.

Khun Supachorp was also carrying ID cards confirming he was a member of the Banglamung Civil Defence Force, the Thappraya 2310 Volunteer Unit and a motorbike taxi driver.
