PAD sets three conditions for rallying

BANGKOK: -- The People's Alliance for Democracy on Wednesday outlined its three conditions to organise street protests.

For the first two conditions, the PAD-led rallies will take place if a law is enacted to lessen the royal power and if a law is passed to whitewash the conviction and punishment of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

On the third and final condition, the yellow shirts will descend on the streets if the PAD deems it necessary to spearhead the political reforms.

"The PAD will not rally against the charter change because any attempts to tear-up the Constitution could be blocked via the judicial process," PAD spokesman Panthep Pourpongpan said.

Of the three conditions, the amnesty for Thaksin would be most critical at this juncture.

I most certainly agree with them about the white washing of Thaksin's crimes, someone has to stand up to Pua Thai''s totally unfair and biased approach towards their pay master. One would have thought there were no real problems to be solved or attempted to be solved in the country apart from pandering to the interests of an extremely corrupt billionaire and his whole nepotistic nest of vipers.

The three conditions are confusing and unintelligible considering the English language as well as the fact that they are supposedly being dictated by PAD. Why would PAD be "setting conditions" for public rallies? Maybe if the headline stated "PAD sets three conditions for "peaceful" rallies by them", it would make more sense. But even then, in this case, conditions one and two are incongruous with PAD. The third condition is entirely unintelligible under any circumstances and regardless of who is stating it.

Perhaps that's partly their reason for returning to their earlier priority when rallies were anything but small. It's at least partly responsible for why Thaksin has continually pushed for his return and then backed-off, pushed and backed-off for the past several years.

They are certainly relevant in the context of Thaksin attempting to return unscathed and enriched on the latest of his efforts to do so. That sort of action by him and the closer he gets to achieving his goals would undoubtedly have many of its previous supporters returning the .
