A Nigerian national was arrested May 8 after 10 packets of cocaine were found in his stomach. Pol. Col. Watchana Boworn- boon.

Suratthani immigration police superintendent, said the suspect, Okpara Obin- na Uzochukwu, 27, arrived at the airport on a Bangkok Airways fight from Bangkok.

He was cupping his belly, complaining of severe stomach pain, as he passed the passport- checking area of the airport.

Very weird. Why would anyone swallow 110 gr heroin, then "smuggle" from Bangkok to Samui.....and how would he have given the heroin to someone at the airport after arrival....and why immigration when you are already in Thailand???????

You can pass immigrations and customs on Koh Samui, don't have to do it in BKK

Most immigration coming to Samui is done at BKK. Only direct flights are processed here.

Perhaps the better way of looking at it, is the guy cleared customs in BKK, & was on his way to Samui. They still have a CQ sticker & immigration here do keep an eye, as in most cases is forwarded direct to Samui. They do random checks.

There are at least a couple of flight from BKK where all the passangers need to go through immigration in Samui.

maybe he had a connecting flight thought that immgergation in samui wouldbe more slack that bangkok.
