same here, I also called VFS but they only gave me limited advice on the same subject as sheba.

Does anyone know if it is possible to contact the embassy directly?

visaplus, 7by7, any ideas?

thanks!

Unfortunately you won't know the answer until you get the decision. Having said that, if there is a "grey area" in the interpretation of the results, then the ECO does, of course, have the right to ask you for further evidence ( but probably won't). He will not contact the test centre, or try to access the results online.

That said, common sense should prevail. If the application is refused, then you can appeal, and submit the pass certificate. The ECO knows this. He also knows, of course, that it is your responsibility to provide the required evidence of the test pass in the first place, so he may make the decision to refuse, knowing that it can be overturned later at an ECM review of the decision if you appeal. It will cost you 80 GBP or 140 GBP to appeal, and that will not be refunded if the decision is overturned at the ECM review. If it goes to appeal, you will probably win, as the evidence of the test pass ( the actual certificate) should not be considered new evidence, merely additional evidence to your original claim to have passed. The ECO or ECM will not let the matter go to appeal as they know they will lose, and if they do lose, then you would probably get your appeal fee back. So, to sum up, either the evidence you have provided is hopefully sufficient, or, if not, then common sense will hopefully prevail.

Thanks for the replies, especially visa plus!

Interesting to hear that they wouldn't check the results online or contact the test center. Hopefully common sense will prevail! My wife is a tour guide and has been for 10 years. She speaks a very high standard of English and we included emails from clients complimenting her on her English, with our supporting documents. If they are unsure of her skills, hopefully her experience will help nudge their decision in the right direction. Also interesting to hear that they will (but don't usually) ask for evidence if they are unsure.

Thanks again for all the help!
