Best Hospital In Samui To Have A Baby

So Mrs Itsala is nearly at the finish post and the time is here for the little one to be born.

We have been around all the hospitals, and really can't be sure which one is the best choice. BKK Samui is obviously the nicest, but the doctor involved seems about 22 and clueless. Samui Hospital in Nathorn is the preferable choice of our current doctor, but it is a mixture of a Vietnam war field hospital and a Butlins holiday camp. Bandon is about the same, and Inter has a couple of recent horror stories.

I wonder if I could trouble you guys for an assessment based on you own experiences. One thing is that money is not a consideration (other than getting fleeced of course), I am basing the decision on comfort and best chance of no cock ups.

My friends shopped around recently, and they opted for Bkk Samui, actually cheaper than Bandon they claimed. Baby was born fit and well, cost was around the 50k mark, including a cast of the babies feet. As for the Dr you could possibly ask for another? You are the customer, and paying privately, the female peadatrician there is excellent so if anything was complicated I would feel a lot better with her in the fold.

I personally will never use Bkk Samui hospital again, I find the Insurance dept staff ( thai and falang) some of the most surly and I'll mannered people in any customer service department I have encountered. Maybe the international hospital next time for me!

Will miss the food at Bkk Samui though!

Best choice will be Nathon, if anything goes wrong in one of the other hospitals, mother will be transported to Nathon for Emergency. This is the only hospital equipped (staff?) to deal with delivery emergencies.

My wife had both our children born there without a hitch. You can get private rooms there as well, just need to ask for them although they may not necessarily be available. Is your wife Thai or Western?

Bkk Samui gets my vote, the Doctor was female and appeared young, but was and is superb to this day, we took a package which cast around 53,000, note if using some of the other hospitals your partner may end up in Nathon anyway if the obstetrician, is not on duty. Best to double check.

A doctor in Thailand couldn't be wrong, now could he. Doesn't matter what hospital you're at. In general, my previous statement is still valid.

We had our baby in Nathon 9 months ago.

Our Gyn-Ob has her clinic just outside the gates.

Scheduled caesarean with our doctor, private room with a sea view, excellent.

Cost 5000 in bonus for our doctor and 1300 per night in private room.

I hear Nathon is a good all round hospital and if I ever have a problem with my health that is the 1st place I will go, like most private hospitals the doctors work for both government and private, just ask for a private room !!!!!

One of the drawbacks with Naton is that it's about as far as it's possible to be away from expectant mothers without getting their feet wet.
