My girlfriend and I have been living in Jomtien part time in my condo and in Loei province in her home for the rest of the time. We have been doing this for the past two years. In September we finally tied the knot and we have been living in her home. I received my third retirement visa from Pattaya in December. I was advised here on TV to keep the retirement visa because I qualify financially and it is easier than the support visa. I have to do the address confirmation in February. The question is if I should use the condo address or change it to where we spend the most time? Should I muddy the water and tell immigration that I am now married and change to the Loei address? I don't want to cause any confusion or have any problems. I LIKE it here up country. :o

I suspect nobody is reporting your presence in Loei (as is required by law but seldom done). If you are now spending the majority of your time up there I would start listing it was your address and perhaps for next extension of stay use local immigration office up there. People do move so don't believe it will cause any problems.

To be strictly correct you should report your new address each time you

move from Pattaya to Loei, or vice versa.

A bit if a hassle I know.

Remember you can do the 90 report by post, which saves you having

to appear in person.

I went to report with my wife yesterday. She had never bothered to report for the previous 2 years and was therefore issued a fine of 2000 baht. As shes a cheeky bugger, she argued the fact and ended up speaking to the boss at the One stop service centre in Bangkok.

She told us just to take our passports and walk away, as until the new airport is online there is no way for the immigration department to check our status, especially as the 90 day count starts from when you enter the country.

That woman saved us over 100 USD. Who says Thai immigration are all unhelpful!!

Let's just hope you/she are not arrested for anything.

If a foreigner who did not make the notification of staying over 90 days is arrested, he will be fined 4,000.- Baht.
