I have recently hurt myself on the job, bad. It was revealed that the company didn´t have any insurance on me, as promised.

Is there a law in Thailand that compels the company to have any insurance on an employer, any kind of insurance?

An old friend of mine is apparently working at ACE Insurance Company in Bangkok, as an accountant. He could quite easy find out for me the truth in the matter.

The answer he got from his fellow workers was; foreigners must have work permit and everyone in Thailand must be insured by its employer.

My old employer got the work permit correct, not the other one.

Check with the Labour Department, every company should have a Workmen's Compensation policy.
