Odd that the tourist police website is entirely in Thai though?

why,the tourist ploce are thai,do u mean the volunteer police force, who have different nationalities

Are you saying that the website has been created for the police officers?

I would have guessed it's for the tourists (who, by definition, are not Thai).

Tourists are not Thai?

no.. Thais would be nationals... not foreign nationals. Also, Thais would use the Royal Thai police.. why would they need to use the tourist police which was setup to assist the foreign tourists

I guess the magic word here is TOURIST.

My experience is also that the tourist police in Pattaya speak very little English.

The primary function of the tourist police is to police tourists, not to assist them. That's why they were set up. No?

No,

They helped with a jet ski scam where damage did occur as a result of a third party capsizing my Jet Ski. They reduced the repair bill from 80,000 Baht to 16,000 Baht. I have the greatest respect for them. .....and yes they did speak English.

Some posts were removed. For violation of forum rules:

I caught the second one early so will only issue a warning here, but if it's repeated we will take much stronger action.

There are no Foreign Tourist Police Assistants at Police Stations in Pattaya.

So the English guy at Soi 9 who assisted me when a Thai family member was killed in a hit and run was my imagination?

simple1, I was responding to a misunderstanding that Foreign Tourist Police Assistants (FTPA) are the same as Foreign Police Volunteers (FPV). They are a totally separate group with separate responsibilities and members. FTPA patrol Walking street and FPV man help desks at stations.
