pattayadingo
Phoning the consulate in Jomtien I keep getting a fax tone. Wonderful. Can they not have a dedicated fax line and a separate phone line, or is that simply too much to ask? The wonders of modern technology seem to have passed the UK by yet again. doggie888888
At least you have a consulate here. Most of us travel to BKK only to find our embassies are open for our business from 2pm to 2.30pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.

Fair enough, but not a lot of good having a phone line that does not ring
soihok
Why not just send them a fax then?

beano2274
Maybe when no-one is there they switch the phone to the fax machine.
Javabear
I thought I had read about a year ago that the Honorary British Consulate in Jomtien had closed its doors permanently.
PattayaParent
Why not just send them a fax then? Send them a fax saying "answer the bloody 'phone" But I think Beano is right, when there is nobody in the office the 'phone is switched over to fax.

No its very much open. Out of office hours, the public should call the Embassy 02 305 8333 and follow the instructions. Office hours: Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30 (Local time) Friday: 08:00 – 13:00 (Local time) Consular Opening Hours: Monday – Friday: 09:00-11:30 (Local time) 02:00-04:30 (GMT) Edited June 25, 2012 by edwinclapham
