Wat Kasem Suk 15 km southeast of Chiang Rai

I love how Thais put so much time and money into making a fancy temple. Then, they always place crap in or on it, whether it's wiring, plastic pipes, canopies, or, in this case, an ice chest.

I wonder if it's there so that we can grab a cold one on our way in to meditate?

An unusual archway entrance to a temple .

The tree is Hopea Odorata, or known in Thailand as Mrs. Takian, a ghost of a woman that lies in the tree's in the forest, a lot of belief in good luck especially on lottery day.

This one is a full tree, 2-3 temples near where I live have part trunks, most dredged out of the local river, one guy started to chop one up until he was told what it was, it was then soon taken to our local temple.

This one is at a temple at Ang-Sublec , near Lopburi city in the mountains.
