Jersey Jim
Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me if where cable TV is available in other parts of Thailand and Euro football is is shown without purchasing a box from Grammy, and paying a license fee . is it breaking the law as it appears to be in Pattaya. A bar I know has been fined 40,000 Baht for having the football on ,although this was without the knowledge of the owner, who was approached to buy a license but declined as in the early hours of the morning it would not attract any custom . The reason the bar is open is to allow residents staying in the hotel access to the rooms above the bar.& the night porter was watching the game with some motorbike taxi drivers who were not customers. . JakeBKK
Yes, the games are free to watch on your private telly. If you broadcast them in a beer bar you need a license from GMM, same as for the last world cup. The fee for the world cup was 10.000,- THB, many places got the license stickers from their beer company’s tough.
