License For Euro Football

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me if where cable TV is available in other parts of Thailand and Euro football is is shown without purchasing a box from Grammy, and paying a license fee . is it breaking the law as it appears to be in Pattaya.

A bar I know has been fined 40,000 Baht for having the football on ,although this was without the knowledge of the owner, who was approached to buy a license but declined as in the early hours of the morning it would not attract any custom .

The reason the bar is open is to allow residents staying in the hotel access to the rooms above the bar.& the night porter was watching the game with some motorbike taxi drivers who were not customers. .

Thai Cable tv its free.....

Thai terrestrial tv.

if i was the bar owner I'd ha gone to court, the whole thing is liquid and very hard to progress in court, gmm <deleted> up big time

Yes, the games are free to watch on your private telly. If you broadcast them in a beer bar you need a license from GMM, same as for the last world cup. The fee for the world cup was 10.000,- THB, many places got the license stickers from their beer company’s tough.
