Passport Thai Son/British Citizen

Featured Replies

The foreign office website is hopelessly flawed with the correct procedures for getting a passport for my thai son. He has his thai birth cert with my surname .... so all that is in order. The problem is with my passport as it says it can take upto 6 weeks to process the first applicationand they need original documents including my passport. I cannot be in thailand for more than 3 weeks. Soooooooo is there a different way to apply, from what I am reading you apply at the the british embassy bangkok they send it to hong kong who send it to the uk who then send it back using dhl, bizzarre!

Can I therefore cut out the Bangkok embassy and hong kong embassy and just get the original birth certificate and official translation sent to my home in the uk and do the passport thing here and take the passport over with me when I go in September?

Thanks for any replies

Phone the British Embassy and ask or email them. Better than getting guesses.. Good luck
