Mpt $20 Sim Card - One Time Use, Looking To Buy Semi-Used...

Featured Replies

I'm in Yangon and my current one-time-use sim card will expire in several days.... (bought it on a trip here nearly a month ago)

If anyone is leaving Yangon, and has a week or two left on their current sim card, I'd be willing to buy it out pro-rata....

...such a pity these can't be topped up - but instead of wasting the remaining use, please PM me if you have only used it for a couple of weeks & want to sell on what is left...

I'm surprised you cannot top it up. Are there different brands in Myanmar?

Hi Tom, hope you are well.

Just the MPT branded SIM. Yes it is ridiculous that they are a one-time, one-month, disposable item (for $20, including $20 of pre-loaded credit) - but talking to the guys here in Yangon it doesn't look to change any time soon.

You can certainly buy a local sim card which is rechargeable - but the initial cost is Ks 200,000 (about$220)

The $20 one-time sim's are popular though, and it has been handy - and I guess that MPT are just recycling the numbers....must be good revenue.

By the way the above ad is now irrelevant as I bought another sim today whistling.gif

Thanks for the info about the cards, this should be useful.

If you have future ads, please post them in the (free) new Myanmar Classifieds topic here.
