Few corrections. I don't know aby diveshops that take their customers on a sidecar, it is used to transport equipment etc. Much more flexible than a pickup for that purpose.

Your quote mate^^^

Oh and who might these be? Samlor divers? The guys and girls (Thais and falangs) I know own their own boats and dont sit around on the internet all day praying for 30 percent commissions walking in off the streets

Since there are about 5 DC's on the island that own their own daytrip boats not much choice who your friends are.

I remember you in another thread talking about one of your friends, who happens to run an operation on the fringes, does not own his own boat, etc. He may let you think otherwise though.

Yes, equipment like cola and sprite to the boats, drinking water, etc. is very often transported on a sidecar.

Guest equipment is normally picked up in the morning and returned again to the DC after diving by pickup. Just did that myself yesterday, will return it again later today, will be doing that tomorrow, etc. That is our own equipment BTW, equipment owned by guests, as you, would normally be transported to the pier by the guest, since you're coming and parking by the pier yourself. But if you prefer that, sure we'll transport your equipment. If it is equipment from a vacationing guest we'll pick it up at the guests hotel, take care of it while he is diving, and return it again when he is done.

No, I don't own my own boat, which is in the present business very good. May change in the next few years, but does not look like it at the moment. At least 3 of the 5 DC's that own their own daytrip boat use a sidecar BTW.

Don't own your own boat that just makes you a booking agent and there are plenty of those around

By your recent posts sounds like your a insurance agent as well, same thing everywhere

Since we conduct our own courses and send the guests with our own divemasters there is a major difference. Not owning a boat also vastly increases our flexibility.

So no Peter, we do a lot more than 'just' booking.

Jeez. How did you get so off topic? I think the question has been answered and the OP scared off. And before somebody gets a posting holiday, best to close this thread.
