Good Pubs In Ao Nang

Featured Replies

Which are the best pubs to visit in Ao Nang, I will be going there in a few weeks, and looking for decent atmosphere and food, as well as good entertainment, any websites would be helpful.

There are many pubs in Ao Nang and unless we know your preferences, very difficult to give you recommendations. There are a number of Irish pubs, inclusive the Irish Rover. But the food there, hmmm.... it's Irish. I prefer to have dinner in one of the numerous restaurants, big choices are available. Than I have a drink or two in one of the bars, i.e. at Hat Nopparathara, at the center point or any other bar in Ao Nang. At the center point you have many varieties of entertainment, i.e. life music, a katoey show, girlie shows or just chill at one of the other bars not offering any life shows. Most bars have a free pool table.

Klongmuang, thanks for your reply. But does the lack of other replies mean that there aren't any good pubs at all, or are all the local farangs very unfriendly. I did find one website beside the Irish Rover for a pub called the little Longhorn, it looked reasonably busy and seemed a clean enough place, lots of pics but very little info about the bar though. Any more info would be very welcome thanks all.

No Tony, I don't think so that the local farangs are unfriendly. But it's true, there are not too many good bars in Ao Nang and especially now, they are very quiet, they have only few customers. And anyway, Ao Nang is not a really good place to have party or visit a bar, because the locals are mostly "calmed down" person, if you know what I mean. :-)

The Longhorn is OK, but there are mostly thai live music. It's in the Center Point where you find many other bars, too.

The lack of responses is because this forum is not very busy. The Longhorn Saloon offers live music and usually they have good Thai bands. Ao Nang is a family destination and not renowned for big parties. My prefered bars are the calmer ones you just sit down, drink a beer and chat with friends.

Think every one has covered everything here 3 choices centrepoint(bit of everything),walking street(relaxed good for chat and people watching) and soi dissappointment( girls, girls, girls)

If they have agood band on kr pub in centrepoint can be good rolled out of there at 3.30 the other week excellent band from Malaysia on,sometimes doesn't get busy till late though
