July 11, 201213 yr Hi all! My boyfriend and I are going to Thailand this September for 3 weeks. We would like to explore Ang Thong Marine Park. We were thinking of 3 days/ 2 Nights staying on Wua Talap. We would like to go from Koh Phangan, stay 2 nights in Wua Talap, and possibly get a boat back to Koh Samui. I am just wondering if anyone has done this? Or if this is even possible? I'm thinking that we might have to return to Phangan on the way back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks!
July 13, 201213 yr Things like this are usually easy to arrange here. Just remember that all the travel agents and just about everybody else wants to get a commission on bookings you might want to make, and that they might inflate the price or fail to tell you all your (lower cost) options. I would suggest that you contact the Park directly (might need translation help) for both transport and lodging. I think that the regular tour companies, who are fairly expensive for day trips, don't mind if you return a different day, if you want to go that way. The weather that time of year varies, if the Park offers going in a smaller boat that services them, the ocean conditions might make you wish you were in a larger tour boat. The cabin area has some monkeys living there, I personally wouldn't want to stay in a tent (another option available) with those pesky critters around. Enjoy!
July 13, 201213 yr I just sorted this out for some guests staying with me, who booked online for the accommodation. They are going from Samui and back to Samui, and the only way to this is with the tour companies. Yes, they will pick you up several days later, and yes to do have to book one of their day trips. I don't know if any of the companies, operating from Phangnan, have a sister company that can drop you off in Samui though.
July 13, 201213 yr Hi We slept at angthong marine park for 2 nights about 3 weeks ago. Amazing experience. We went with Safari Boat speed boat from koh phangan, really great tour guides and whole service. Price for bungalow there is 500 baht you can book one through website of national park.
