Recommended Posts

Public school Bangkok 7-12

Private language school Bangkok

Resume of general work experience with separate box highlighting brief ESL teaching jobs 94,97

University diploma (copy hopefully OK)

Univ transcripts (copies or original)

Is a teaching certificate MANDATORY for employment?

Is that stupid cultural course mandatory for (married people!) employment?

Thanks

Thanks, out of curiosity could anyone elaborate - specifics, costs and issues

professional knowledge tests

culture course.

4 Sections, 1,000 THB per Section. Test 10 will take place in September 2012. I estimate 800 4-Sections-test takers since the first test in 2007. Until now, not more than 10 test takers passed all 4 sections and were granted the TCT Teacher License.

Currently, the Culture Course is provided by one organisation only. 5,000 THB.

Thanks.

So if no one is passing the test, how is it that public schools are getting teachers?

I know that all sorts of "volunteer" programs place teachers upcountry as well as TEFl mills that give students first year jobs 50hrs/B25K.

I wonder which govt offical own the comapny that has the monopoly on the culture course - oh, such a cynic.

You're welcome.

Life cycle of the foreign teaching profession in Thailand.

Two years and move on or after two years, do the tests or the culture course and get another provisional teaching permit for two years and then move one.
