Mystery surrounds violent death of Mental Health Patient at North Pattaya Shelter

PATTAYA:--A Mental Health Patient at a Government-run Shelter for the homeless in Banglamung was found dead on Thursday in an apparent case of suicide.

Police Colonel Somnook, the Banglamung Police Chief was called to the shelter, located on the Sukhumvit Road and inspected the body of Khun Tira aged 77 who was lying on the floor in the food preparation area. He had stab wounds to his arms and a deep laceration to his stomach which exposed his intestines. Close-by was a knife, thought to have been used by the man. Forensic Police were called to examine the scene more closely and extracted fingerprint impressions from the area which are currently being analysed.

A fellow resident at the shelter, Khun Sanan aged 66, saw Khun Tira early in the morning leaving his room and moments later heard him shout out in pain which is when he was discovered but it was too late to save him. A Worker at the shelter, Khun Jintana aged 55 confirming seeing him the night before and everything seemed normal
