My girlfriend applied at the VFS for a Visit Visa and they took the 3900 baht cheque, then gave her her passport back and no submission slip. She went to the VFS office in Bangkok on the 29th June. I have just arrived back in Thailand and all the documents were sent back to us with no letter. Just called the VFS and asked why no letter was sent back advising why the visa was refused (assume it was refused). They have the submission ID from the form filled in on the internet but no record of it being processed. They say someone has commited fraud within the office, they know who it is, and we will get our money back when the person who carried out the fraud is taken to court. In the meantime, we have been asked to make a new appointment for tomorrow to resubmit the original application (no need to fill everything in again). They say we still need to submit another cheque for 3900 baht for the visa application, and they will process it much quicker (they say two weeks). We were the 25th person to call in with this issue today!

We have made our appointment for tomorrow and I will let you know what happens; we will push to get the visa processed much quicker. It urks me that I have to pay again, and it points to the flaws in farming out something like to a external company. If visas were still done in the Embassy there would less chances of fraud like this.

1) You do not say which country you are talking about; VFS process visa applications for many countries.

2) VFS do not make any decisions on visa applications; they simply process applications and pass them onto the embassy concerned.

4) This is a serious allegation; you should report this incident to the embassy concerned.

4) Even if true, Thailand's defamation laws mean by publishing these allegations this website could be in serious trouble.

5) Therefore; closed.

NB Topic title edited to show this is an allegation rather than a proven fact.
