I have to be honest and say I know nothing about the building trade and need some help.

My partner and I have just bought a house and have to furnish and fit things from scratch. I am getting quotes from builders etc but quite honestly i don't know where they are getting some of their figures from.

For example, I wanted just a simple roof stand build at the back of the house to create an extra kitchen area. I got quoted 40,000 bht.

Secondly to tile the kitchen they quoted me 20000 bht. I only want the bit above where I cook done.

Any recommendations on how to find good people that don't look at me as a faring and think I am willing to pay rediculous prices would be appreciated.
