A tortured soul to be sure. Brain tumour and he takes his own life. There are more, less severe ways, to affect personal euthanasia. He must have been quite desperate. Sad.

I believe the hotel is the Furama off of Silom Road it is built pratically in the old cemetary. According to comments on a web site a couple who stayed at the hotel complained that the Furama's swimming pool is situated on the 9th floor directly over the cemetary. That is, if you fell, you would land in the cemetary.

This man had an incurable brain tumour and probably could not stand the pain anymore.

Very sad and tragic indeed, a most terrible thing.

He is at peace and perhaps he is in a better place where he feels no more pain and suffering.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends and all those nearest and dearest to him..

Police believed he fell from the ninth floor of a hotel, which has a swimming pool. They are checking the hotel's closed-circuit cameras to find out the cause of his death

just a guess............ the fall killed him. rolleyes.gif

If you can see any humour in the terrible suffering and horrific death of a 47 year old man who probably never done any harm to anyone, than you`re an idiot.

Perhaps it will be you`re turn next? And we may all see the funny side of it.

SICK.

Too sad. If the brain tumor statement is true,

he may have wanted to go out while he still had his faculties.

Or conversely had significantly lost them, and that and depression caused him to end it.

Sad ending none-the-less.

RIP.

I can't fault someone for chosing to end things. It's sad that there isn't some way to make it less stressful for those around you.

I feel very sorry for his friend who made a long journey only to end so unsuccessfully.

"found dead in a graveyard"

"Police said he fell from a high building near the graveyard"

What? Were there high winds when he fell? With an intro like this, how can anyone believe anything.

RIP to the poor ould soul.

Got to agree , if they found some bugger alive in there now that would be news.

With a slab on your chest and a half ton of clay,

The traffic is certain to be all one way.

Makes perfect sense to people with an IQ over 70. How many hotels are located IN a graveyard? Pretty obvious the hotel was NEXT TO aka NEAR a graveyard.

"next to" is not the same as "near", so it's your IQ that is questionable. "near" could mean a block away, hence cup-O-coffee's comment. As someone else said, these reports are written by people who are not wholly proficient in English, so their choice of words is often wrong. We ought to accommodate that, but it often prompts jokes.

You obviously need to look at the definition of "near." "Near" can mean the EXACT SAME THING AS "NEXT TO" and can also mean miles away. If you went to school, you would know "Next to" is a synonym of "near" and can be inter-changed. In this case it is pretty clear that their choice of English is not wrong, its just knob heads like you two that try to find something wrong with every post.

Just wondering if somebody moved the body to the graveyard? Sad that the lad was ill. To be in such a nice country and then having to think of not being able to experience it any more.
