Hello all, I'm thinking about working in Phuket because much of my family lives in Thailand. I'm currently attending a American University and I graduate next year with a bachelors degree in Supply Chain Operations Management. I also have 3 years of experience working with mortgages. Does anybody know what kind of salary I would be making if I got a position in operations, productions or sales?

Thanks!

That's 50k in baht. Translates to about US$1600.

Best get experience and make proper money in the States.

I don't think there are any jobs in the states

How would you know? I know I have one...

I would try applying with some of the large Thai corporations, such as PTT or CP (my US next door neighbour is a VP with CP), or some of the multinationals that operate in Thailand (as an example, Chevron - or Caltex as it's known here).

I was exaggerating a bit, but newspapers report on this sort of stuff and most people read newspapers therefore that is how I know. The power of the media eh....

Yes some areas are worse than others in the USA. My daughter graduated last year with a BA in communications/PR and got a job as a marketing manager. So there are jobs, if you're qualified.

Its all about WHO you know not WHAT you know. Most people in Thailand need money under the table to give you a "HIRED" status especially IF u r a thai...

Do you have Thai citizenship? Not being able to speak Thai fluently here would limit your job potentials, one would think.

No. I thought it would be obvious as I was talking about jobs in the US in my prior post... She is not a Thai citizen. Are you?

i would say so. if you have a thai id card or can get one and can speak thai fluently you should be able to find something.

i friend of mine is 100% thai but grew up in the US and is US citizen, but still has thai passport and id card and speaks thai perfectly, and he's doing fine
