I know its expensive!

I switched from Jerhigh and Pedigree snacks to BowJerky and Rena's Recipe Dog Cookies respectively from Tesco/Lotus, which work out at less than half the price.

I get my dog food wholesale (900 baht for a 20kg bag of Pedigree) but none of the pet-food wholesalers I know discount JerHigh; the only place I know which does is "Wan" supermarket in Rayong, which is a large cash-and-carry.

i give mine bow jerky and he loves rena's chicken balls, but some of the treets i have tried have so much salt in them you have to check all the ingredients as some of the them are of the same [salt]

It's pretty easy to make your own. I buy a whole cow's liver in the local market, cut it into thin slices and dry them on a rack in the oven at 130 C for a couple of hours until bone dry. Whisky loves them. Practically bites my fingers off when I give him a piece. You can use the same technique with chicken, or pretty much any other meat, but liver is definitely Whisky's favourite. Fattier pieces of meat, though, won't last as long and need to be kept in the fridge.

Wholesalers don't hold that sort of stock. For that amount, why not contact the company direct? Their website is www.jerhigh.com which gives their contact details, as well as a contact form for anyone wanting to "Become a Reseller".

That sounds like a great deal. Would you mind sharing where that is from - please. I know a few friends who would love to get that price.

That's from "Nick's", in Ban Amphur just before the railway line (South of Pattaya), but it may be going up soon as they are getting new stock. The pet food supplier in Naklua (North of Pattaya), beside the bicycle shop on Sukhumvit, charged me 925 baht a bag recently when Nick's were out of stock, but your price may depend on how many bags you buy and how long you've been a customer - I buy about 12 x 20kg bags of dog or fish food a month.

Wan supermarket in Rayong has 2 branches, both near the "Star" centre; good prices, quite a bit better than Makro, but I've never seen another farang there!

Tommyuk77 - Jerhigh also have a phone number on the website; why not try that?

Sorry to go a bit off-topic, but that's a great tip and I'll give it a try!

Thank you.
