Well i could tell the difference. You obviously couldn't 'cos you thought they were from somewhere else and couldn't be bothered to ask. Easy for me though because I had a Thai gf from Kalasin for 7 years and lived with her relatives. Ask anyone from the north east if they can tell whether people are from Khon Kaen or Kalasin. The two are quite different. Some people can even pin-point villages, not just provinces.

I have a feeling this topic is 30 seconds from being closed so let me just get this one in:

Some time ago I actually asked one of the senior staff at the old No 1 what the situation was re 'going with customers' at the place. It turned into an interesting group discussion, and everyone in the end agreed that the breakdown is (or was, at the time) roughly as follows:

: one third is just staff: cooking, serving, cleaning tables, writing bills, chatting with customers but no extra-curriculars.

: one third wouldn't be okay with being barfined by anyone any time. They may go with a customer if they like him, i.e. someone perhaps a bit younger, nicer, whatever, or they're drunk enough. this includes being taken on holidays to beaches and islands; I've seen the pics. I think that's normal healthy behavior for twenty-something chicks.

: one third can be barfined by just about anyone who's not a total creep and has money in his wallet.

I thought it a good mix, striking a nice balance with a little flirting by those open to it, but a professionally run bar with beers, pool tables and sports for everyone else.

Again, this applies to the old venue, a year or two ago. I think it's essentially the same nowadays at the old location, but, as discussed, the new place has a different format.
