I am heading back from Ireland to Thailand in a few days. I read somewhere that I should be extra careful to ensure that I get the 'proper' stamp on my reentry permit, at Bangkok airport. Can anyone tell me, what is meant by 'the proper stamp' ? Thanks in advance. Pat.

When you return, you have to fil in an arrival card. On the arrival card you fill in the number of the re-entry permit where it asks for your visa number. I always write "re-entry" next to it.

When immigration stamps you in, you check if they give you the right permission to stay untill date. Sometimes they overlook the re-entry permit and just give you a stamp for 30 days. That's why you check it, so it can be corrected at the spot.
