Satcommlee
I was treated there 2 weeks ago for a minor procedure - a Vasectomy.I was told the whole procedure would cost 12000 baht. I paid 5000 baht deposit and was very surprised to be charged just 2950 baht extra after the operation - a total of 8000 baht That seems very resonable. I actually paid more to have my dog castrated! lapd
My advice to you, if you have the money to pay 150,000/200,000 baht, go home and get yourself operated on instead! I know of 2 stories, same problem, both men needed operating on there leg, both going to Bangkok pattaya hospital! One man paid cash, the other was covered through bupa. Man who paid cash, pretty much list his leg, man with bupa, is running around! If you pay cash in Thailand there is no one to answer too, if your insured, it's a different story! Go home get it sorted! If not definitely nut go and have in memorial hospital, if you can't afford Bangkok pattaya, then go to the international hospital! Orr even banglamung. It may be a government hospital, but there's nothing wrong with it! Most of the things I have heard about Memorial fall into 2 categories. People who say it's bad but never had anything done there, and everyone else who have had something done there and seem to be generally happy with the service and price. YMMV. splodger
Hi Mickey ! I just came back from Memorial after staying for 3 days. I got a terrible ache in my stomach. It was the appendix. Came in at 3 in the afternoon at 6 I was on the op-table. They are taking a lot of test but it's good to know I haven't got HIV, diabetes etc The staff is very friendly and professional. I had the general surgeon Wichiniat ( I think) Very nice person and very professional I felt very confident with all the staff that I met. I stayed in private room 4500 baht. The option is in common room ( 12 - 14) people. Flatscrreen which I didn't use..fridge and CONSTANT attention. X-tra bed for relative, no charge.Sometimes the attention was TOO much..I felt that probably because I was very tired after the op. The follow up same.. very professional..I wanted to leave after 2 days, then the surgeon showed me my fever chart, my blood pressure status and said tomorrow You free to go... After a couple of hours I had 39 C. I'm happy I trusted him. Yesterday I was fine. Total costs everything include 92000 baht. Take care! /B Hi,glad to hear you are feeling better, where is this hospital?I need hernia surgery

Woody1
A TV Member has already responded to your thread on hospital help, FYI, there is only one memorial hospital in Pattaya, and there is one memorial hospital in Sriracha, but that is much further than 15 minutes away from you.

splodger
I was treated there 2 weeks ago for a minor procedure - a vasectomy. The doctor who performed the surgey is part of the Urology department and only comes in on Wednesdays. I found the whole process to be efficient and pain free. Even the initial injection, that I was told may hurt a bit - didn't - so I was very pleased. The follow-up a week later to have the stitches removed was also efficient and pain free. I was told the whole procedure would cost 12000 baht. I paid 5000 baht deposit and was very surprised to be charged just 2950 baht extra after the operation - a total of just 8000 baht. A pleasant surprise after some of the stories I have heard of other hospitals in the area stating a price for an operation and then adding on lots of 'extras'. Would I recommend this hospital to others for a vasectomy - yes I certainly would. In fact I would give the whole process 9/10 overall. I never give 10/10 for anything!!!!! Would I recommend it for your particular operation ? At the end of the day as others have said, its the surgery team that matters. I actually flew to India last year to have a hip operation with a world renowned surgeon who had carried out over 2500 operations of the newer hip replacement (resurfacing) method. I did this because the team of Dr Bose in Chennai is considered one of the best in the world. Even the surgeon at a top hospital in Thailand - Bumrungrand - had only carried out 70 similar operations, so even though he is reputable and the Bumrungrand hospital is world class, many people on health (hip) websites advised me to go to Dr Bose in India - I am glad I did as I am fully recovered and playing football and squash again regularly. So if the PM hospital has the right medical team - then I would go for it - and good luck and speedy recovery. where is this hospital please? Woody1
Ohhh, never mind, I'm sure when you've read through all the posts that members have made trying to give you advise, you'll finaly realise that there isn't a goverment hospital called Memorial about 10-15 minutes from Nirun......in the meantime why not start a petition to get one built.

raro
right. Used to be a government hospital and became private a couple of years ago. The OP could also consider university hospitals such as. Chulalongkorn in Bangkok. Top notch specialist at government rates. sent from my Android phone
ragpicker
Pattaya Memorial hospital USED to be fairly reasonable only a few years ago. Today I was charged 1500 baht for a flu vaccine. 700 baht of this charge was for 30 seconds with a Doctor who bored me with the basics of the vaccine that could have been covered by the nurse who later administered the shot. I won't be going back.
Youngmac
Greetings all, I have been in and out of memorial for the last 9 months due to an infection at the pricey place. Bottom line I have the Best Doc and the staff has been OUTSTANDING! Near death going in 6 times and the Doctor and staff pulled me through. Within days on my feet again. These people are the very best. One suggestion is get the VIP card. NEVER been overcharged but discounts help

joepattaya1961
IMHO Pattaya Memorial is a well-equipped and extensive ER-room with most OPD facilities. It serves in most occasions as an emergency facility and after stabilizing, patients "find" their way to other hospitals.
