Thai Embassy Vientianne

Featured Replies

I was under the impression that the embassy protocol is submit AM day 1 and collect PM day 2. (Submit AM Mon and collect PM Tues)

However, I just stumbled upon this report that says submit AM day 1 and collect PM day 3. (Submit AM Mon and collect PM Wed)

The article is from last year so do any recent visitors know what the scenario is?

http://travelwiseasia.com/thailand/how-to-apply-for-a-thai-tourist-visa-in-vientiane-laos/

I have been there a few times and it is always give it to them in the morning and pick it up the next day in the afternoon.

Maybe it was a holiday and therefor took 3 days. By all reports it is apply day 1 and pick-up day 2.

Actually seems to be totally false information - Vientiane is and has always been next workday issue of visa AFAIK and am positive that was the case a year ago. That poster clearly states otherwise. Indeed it may have been an August holiday when he was there causing it to take 3 days but normally it is next workday.

It is always next day, but make sure you come before 11am, they sometime close the gate early.

The only exception I know of is a few months back someone said they went to an outside agent and, for a fee, was able to pick up his visa the same afternoon he applied. Then again, maybe the post excluded some relevant factors, or the poster was drunk and didn't realize a day had passed, etc. Might want to look through old posts on this.
