Thai Senator Kills Cousin In Hotel Gun Accident

Featured Replies

He faces a maximum of 10 years imprisonment and a 20,000 baht ($636) fine.

Stroll on. You'd get in more trouble for tinkering with an ATM or beeping your horn at the wrong person!

  • "Accidentally" fired an uzi and killed his cousin - oops!

  • Has got to be the most off the wall sentence I have read, only on a par with "It was the day my grandmother blew up", and that was fiction

  • "Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who". Well it sounds like something out of Monty Python.

Mae Hong Son Senator Boonsong Kowawisarach, 56, was removing ammunition from his gun when it suddenly discharged, shooting his 46-year-old wife Chanakarn Dedkhad in the abdomen.

She is not referred to as his ex wife in this article. Although she is now.

Here's a take from the underground along with uncensored commentary -

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/thai-senator-accidentally-kills-secretary-submachine-gun-faces-636-fine

cousin said 'I want to say scuzi' not 'I want to see your uzi'

Isn't scuzi short for squeeze that uzi trigger. :(

Apart from all the crap written in previous posts, what the hell was he doing with it there in the 1st place with it being loaded and all.

Maybe they were having a cheese fondue and playing forfeits !

or perhaps the senator likes cheese with holes in ? tongue.png

According to my wife, one of the tv news programmes describes the deceased as the ex-wife of the senator.

Well she's certainly ex now.

'One more quote from Wikipedia: 'The pistol grip is fitted with a grip safety, making it [i.e. the UZI] difficult to fire accidentally.'

But not impossible.......obviously............

Look people........he's a Senator so you ain't never ever gonna hear anything else about it.........................

end of story !!

Why in the world would he be authorized to have an Uzi? If he casually puts it on the dinner table, how many other "Thai officials" and non-Thai officials are walking or driving around with Uzis and taking them to meetings? It's not a great loss if they kill themselves, but spraying Uzis around puts normal everyday people and workers at risk.

The rich and powerful can do whatever they want with normal everyday people and workers.

Standart dinner situation, nothing to write about cheesy.gif

Why the hell carrie a shit gun like a Uzi around? It's as effective as a knife, you can't hit shit with, it unless you stand 2meters from the target, because of the short barrel and high rate of fire...well or of cause, if you fire it, while having dinner with people, you can hit them biggrin.png

In rooms it is nice....it sprays the room, friend or foe.....

But to be classic you need 2...in every hand one....

How legless was the honourable member for Mae Hong Son when he let rip with the Uzi? Family dinner or piss-up?

Of course he wasn't drunk. It was Mothers Day and no alcohol may be sold!

It's a shame that none of the restaurant staff or other guests had the balls or even common sense to ask him to put the gun away or call the police when he had it on the table.

I think that messed up senator dude has many powerful connections in the government to "buy him out of prison" sooner than the already "light punishment" of 10 year trial says, and everything will be forgotten in a couple of months.

Amazing Thailand... where the rich and powerful can do whatever they want. And in extreme cases, if some low class people complain about the truth or wrongdoings of their Poo Yai, they're just shot dead...

Remember also that killing of a 17 year old boy that was up in the news and the 3 policemen responsible for the murder are getting freed from bail now because if their powerful parents and relatives...

The richer they are the more they can break the rules in every aspect and in special cases can get away with corruption related murder...

It's a shame that none of the restaurant staff or other guests had the balls or even common sense to ask him to put the gun away or call the police when he had it on the table.

Do you think those poor spectators want to risk to get shot and murdered themselves??

And do you think a simple police officer would dare to speak up to a high status Poo Yai senator? This is Thailand where low class people are being abused like a piece if crap...

Man, if that's only Mother's Day, Christmas at this guys house must be awesome...

I just look at this constant stream of news stories like this coming through and have to wonder at what happens to a country when they have the police force and government that Thailand has. It is quite something to live in a country with no real rule of law and justice. I hope I can just keep under the radar and never expose myself to any of it....Or at least have the money available to deal with it when if happens.

21st Century wild west.

RT @RichardBarrow: CONFIRMED: The Thai senator accidentally shot someone with a Jericho 941 pistol and NOT a "Uzi 9mm sub-machine gun"!

RT @RichardBarrow: Now we only need to confirm whether the Thai senator shot his secretary, cousin or his wife.

RT @RichardBarrow: What is most embarrassing is that this misinformation has gone around the world thanks to the Bangkok Post newspaper

RT @RichardBarrow: BBC: Senator Boonsong Kowawisarat took out a 9mm Uzi submachine gun while waiting for food, the Bangkok Post reported

RT @RichardBarrow: CONFIRMED: The Thai senator accidentally shot someone with a Jericho 941 pistol and NOT a "Uzi 9mm sub-machine gun"!

Does it really matter what type of gun was used to kill the lady? This is Thailand NOT America

Perhaps the moderators should move this thread to the appropriate forum :-

your question would seem to me to be a reiteration of the crap in other posts

In some ways it does matter that the type of gun used is mentioned.

Headline:

"Thai senator shoots family member with Barrett M98 while eating dinner"ermm.gif

Now we are told it was not an UZI but a Jericho 941.post-9891-0-72403900-1344916473_thumb.jp

"Boonsong, who is now protected by parliamentary immunity."

I wonder why he need them?

It's a shame that none of the restaurant staff or other guests had the balls or even common sense to ask him to put the gun away or call the police when he had it on the table.

I would not argue with some high ranking obviously crazy guy with an uzi in his hands.

RT @RichardBarrow: Now we only need to confirm whether the Thai senator shot his secretary, cousin or his wife.

Maybe he married his cousin then hired her as his secretary.

An informed source said Boonsong was partially paralysed and his condition could be a reason for the accident.

blink.png The reason was´nt him bringing the gun to a dinner table in a restaurant then?blink.png

If he drops his immunity AND if he's found guilty, he could stand to get a fine of not more than Bt.10,000.

10,000 baht is the maximum fine for killing someone? Is Thailand still in the 19th century?

It was a family member hence the discount.
