Total Visa Run Noob

Featured Replies

It is two months for marriage - not 90 days - and that is for all extensions (not just first as for retirement).

The only thing available to you at Suan Plu is a re-entry permit (they are open Saturday mornings) but for anything else you use Chiang Watanna when living in Bangkok.

OK, this is my plan for tomorrow then.

Go to Chiang Watanna Immigration Office as early as possible to hopefully get my 60 day extension.

Bringing with me:

1. US marriage License

2. My Passport and copies showing 1st page and Visa stamp page I received in Chicago at the Thai consulate there, plus the departure card page.

3. 4cm x 6cm photos of myself.

4. Copy of my wife's ID

5. My wife

6. Copy and original bank book

I want to confirm these items with all you visa seasoned vets:

1. Do I need the house book for the 60 day extension of stay?

2. Do I need a translated copy of our marriage certificate for the 60 day extension of stay?

3. Is the visa I am asking for CALLED a 60 day extension of stay? I don't want to be asking for the wrong thing!

4. Is there anything I am forgetting? :)

Thanks again so much everyone!

Do bring the house book, it also servs as proof of residence in essence that you are applying at the correct office.

believe a certified translation is not needed for a 60 day extension, provided the mariage certificate is in English.

Forgive me as this whole process is making me a nervous wreck.

Here's to becoming as old a hand at this as the people who have been helpful for me here! burp.gif
