KAMRA, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- A group of armed militants early Thursday morning attacked a Pakistani airbase where nine people were reported dead, officials said.

Around eight militants carried out the attack at approximately 2 a.m. local time on a Pakistan Air Force Minhas airbase in Kamra, located in the Attock District in the province of Punjab, around 70 kilometers from Islamabad, the country's capital. The militants reportedly used RPG's, automatic weapons and grenades.

Air Commodore Muhammad Azam spoke with the Express Tribune, detailing that at least one aircraft was damaged as militants fired from outside the base. In addition, the attackers were seen wearing suicide vests.

Security forces conducted operations to counter the attack, triggering a fierce four-hour battle in which eight militants and one security official were killed. Search operations were conducted, and eight suspects were also detained.

No group or organization has claimed responsibility of the attack, while the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan refused to comment regarding the incident.

In December 2007, a suicide bomber attacked the same airbase, injuring at least five children inside a school bus within the airbase. And in October 2009, at least 8 people were killed when another suicide bomber targeted a check post outside the base.

average Pakistani will think, "what a pity" then go on with his daily routine.

However, if a western man puts a q'ran book near a toilet, watch out: Tens of thousands will be out on the streets screaming bloody murder and death to Israel and America.
