I'm highly entertained at Transam being grounded for using his PC too much ( he claims he was away on an overnighter but hey, we know he was grounded to his room ).

It got me thinking about my lady and the various times ( often ignored ) that she has tried to direct or advise me. When I choose to accept said advice ( normally because it's totally correct ) I make a point of telling my lady........

"Thank you for giving me that advice.....I did exactly what you said....and you were correct......you look after me very good".

At this point a look of pride crosses her face and she gives a little nod of self appreciation. It's just too cute.

So......what makes your lady proud of herself? How does said pride manifest itself?

I'm away to get some popcorn.......I bet you there are some cracking stories out there.

ps Transam.......your a very naughty boy.

As sloppy as this may be, Brian McFadden sort of sums it up for me with the lyrics in the first couple of verses. No doubt she cleaned me up and no doubt she is my conscience.

16 years together is a great testament to this lady.................thumbsup.gif

Great post Chris.......and a salutory lesson to the doom- mongers and naysayers that reckon no one can have a successful relationship with a Thai lady.

Yep it is usually more beneficial in a relationship to build confidence than erode it

I try to encourage and support my wife all the time along the way, she deserves credit for her effort, hard work, and results.

She's proud that after 3 years she has finally worked out how to use her new phone sad.png , which of course she got my thumbsup.gif . smile.png

First I was wondering why you ended your sentence so abruptly at "she got my"... and then thankfully I saw the smiley. rolleyes.gif

A dodgy smiley by Transam.......he's on his best behaviour.

Anyway it's disappointing to see so few members have partners that are proud of themselves.

Oh well.

Proud of herself or pleased with herself is the trouble i am having.

Always very pleased with herself when she guides me around the back soi's and gets me out of bangkok traffic to end up where we were meant to be. Cha laat , yes dear i know

Yes I guess so, we were taking short cuts through hospital grounds and parking spaces once, I was sure we would be nicked, but all the taxi's were at it so I decided ignorance is bliss follow instructions.

Always brilliant to see that smile on her face when I realise where we are and its the right place.

it is always such a pleasure to see the wifes big smile as she summons me to view the latest orchid in flower especially if it is one those she bought for 5 baht as "little bits of green stuff" 5 years ago ...gotta love her

My partner is exceptionally modest, but on the occasion when she surpasses herself, I take the time to tell her, privately, how proud I am of her. For example when she recently graduated from a masters course she had been struggling with. I get the feeling that her family rarely praised her and instead rested a lot of expectation on her which IMHO she has truly surpassed anything they could have planned for her. Nice thread though :)

To be fair that is an extraordinary achievement.......I'm proud of myself if I can find the right exit from the MRT station.

I can't let her know that, she knows I'm proud of her but if I let in a little then there is the sign of not humility but weakness and she WILL exploit that.

After some time you will see, don't worry sooner or later you will get there. w00t.gif

I think all girls are like this... ;) It's because we're right most of the time and its satisfying to hear you admit this every now and then. whistling.gif

My wife is a very proud / strong-willed person, which makes for some epic debates on strategy for our businesses.

She loves to say "I told you so" when her ideas work, but she also says she is proud of me when my ideas work.

What does she say then?

My fianc頩s very proud of her BEng, especially because she comes from a very poor family where education normally isn't a priority. Although only ever in private as she tries very hard to not let her pride show.

Instead, prior to when she starting teaching English 2 months ago, she would introduce herself to friends of mine etc as a farmer (even though she's not) because she is so proud of being from a humble background.

She has soo much pride in her voice as she tells me about how they used to take sticky rice to school for lunch, where some of the other kids would look down on her etc, but how now her younger brother (who's in M2) can choose what he wants for lunch etc.

Unfortunately though, I think her own achievement means she has little sympathy for anyone who is "lazy" or who tries to say that poverty limited their options in life (at least for her generation anyway, she is more understanding with older ppl)
